The South Australian Croatian Biographies Project was launched on Friday, 1 August 2025, at The Croatian Club Adelaide, with 14 biographies now available online. Begun in 2018 by the Croatian History Group, the project was created to ensure that the founding members of the Croatian Club and other important figures in South Australian Croatian life are remembered. The first release features club founders, office bearers, religious leaders, and a small selection of prominent figures and community volunteers, with further biographies to follow after the Croatian History Conference in November 2025.

The Biographies can be viewed now at sacroarchive.com.au — if your browser shows a “Not Secure” message, please don’t worry, as this will be resolved when the Archive website officially launches on 29 August 2025. The Biographies Project is part of the Croatian History Room Archive website, which has received support from the Republic of Croatia’s Central State Office for Croats Abroad. Through this framework, the collection will continue to grow with new entries and updates, including more biographies of women whose contributions have often been overlooked.
